Six area communal, educational and rabbinical leaders were honored recently by Yeshiva University in Washington.

Dr. Bernard W. Gamson and his wife, Deborah Gamson, of Potomac received the Distinguished Leadership Award; Rabbi Jack F. Bieler of Silver Spring received the Harbatzat Torah (Dissemination of Torah) Award; and rabbis Barry Freundel of Georgetown, Hayyim J. Kassorla of Rockville and Joel M. Tessler of Potomac received the Rabbinic Alumnus Award.


David S. Sachs, executive vice president of Baltimore Life Insurance Company, was recognized as Volunteer of the Year by Combined Health Agencies.
