Gannon takes most practice snaps

November 19, 1993|By Vito Stellino

Washington Redskins quarterback Rich Gannon took most of the snaps in practice and moved a step closer to making his first start for the team Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams.

Mark Rypien, who didn't take any snaps Wednesday, took a few yesterday, but he's expected to play only if Gannon gets hurt Sunday or has problems with his foot.

Strong safety Danny Copeland and defensive end Charles Mann returned to practice after missing the past two games with injuries.
