Colonel McBee promoted to head Troop Command

Col. Lawrence F. McBee of Taylorsville recently became the commander of Troop Command, State Area Command, Maryland Army National Guard.

The change of command ceremony took place recently at the headquarters of Troop Command at Camp Frettard in Reisterstown. Colonel McBee replaced Col. Naman X. Barnes, who became the chief of staff for the Maryland Army National Guard.

Colonel McBee will oversee more than 2,500 soldiers in units ranging from engineers and military police, to special forces and medical.

He is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College, National Security Manager's Course, National Defense University and the United States War College.

K? He has more than 41 years of service in the National Guard.
