FIRE

* Winfield: Firefighters from Winfield responded to a tree fire on Nicodemus Road at 12:44 a.m. Tuesday. They were out for an hour and 10 minutes.

* Mount Airy: Engines from the Mount Airy and Lisbon companies responded to a field fire on Candice Drive at 12:27 p.m. Monday. They were out for 22 minutes.

* Winfield: Firefighters from the Winfield, New Windsor, Reese and Westminster stations and the Department of Natural Resources responded to a fire in the woods in the 2800 block of Nicodemus Road at 1:36 p.m. Monday.

The fire consumed about three acres of brush and woodland, fire officials said. Units were on the job for almost four hours.
