In one of the biggest attacks in months in central Bosnia Croat soldiers, backed by artillery barrages of up to 10 shells a minute, battled Monday to sever a key Muslim-held supply road between GORNJI VAKUF and PROZOR. (about 40 miles west of Sarajevo.)

So far, only Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic and Serb army chief Ratko Mladic have accepted U.N. invitations to the leaders of Bosnia's three warring factions to meet Thursday in GENEVA in the hope of averting a winter humanitarian catastrophe.
