POLICE

* Westminster: A 23-year-old Westminster man reported to police that he was assaulted and robbed of $120 as he walked in the 200 block of E. Main St. early Thursday.

He told police a man placed an unknown object at his back and hTC demanded his wallet. The man said he removed the wallet from his pocket and gave it to his assailant, who fled on foot.

The assailant was described as a black male with a heavy build, short hair and wearing a black jacket.

Police said the victim was not injured.

A resident of North Colonial Avenue told police someone stole several items from his car while it was parked at the rear of his residence on Wednesday. He estimated the loss at $310.

An employee of the Montgomery Ward store at Cranberry Mall told police someone stole of pair of shoes from the store on Thursday. The value of the shoes was $50.

FIRE

* Reese: Firefighters from Reese and Gamber responded for a chimney fire in a house on Pond Drive at 5:30 a.m. Thursday. Units were out for 48 minutes.

* Westminster: Westminster firefighters responded to an auto fire on the parking lot of the library on East Main Street at 3:36 p.m. Thursday. They were out for 10 minutes.
