Glen Burnie man arrested in assault

November 15, 1993

Anne Arundel County police charged a 20-year-old Glen Burnie man with assault with intent to murder and maim after reportedly finding him beating a woman in a Glen Burnie townhouse Saturday night.

Police said the victim, Jeanell R. Sims, 26, of the 300 block of Monticello Court, was beaten and bitten on her face, neck and arms, but refused medical treatment. They arrested Adam L. McCaskill, 20, of the same address.

Officers went to the townhouse about 11:45 p.m. and forced their way inside after hearing a woman screaming, and found Ms. Sims being beaten by a man who had two knives and threatened to kill her.

Police said the man attempted to use Ms. Sims as a shield, and they used Mace to get him to release her.

Police said they did not know what prompted the incident.

In addition to assault with intent to maim and murder, Mr. McCaskill was charged with battery, assault, theft, destruction of property and resisting arrest.
