* Dria Paola, 84, who starred in the first Italian film with sound, died Friday in Rome. She became famous for her role as the heroine in the 1930 movie "La Canzone dell'amore" (Love's Song), the first Italian "talkie." Ms. Paola, whose real name was Etra Pitteo, appeared in 50 films before ending her career in 1941.
