Postmaster is robbed in Tracy's Landing

A man armed with a handgun and wearing a ski mask robbed a post office in Tracy's Landing Wednesday afternoon, getting away with a small amount of money and money order vouchers, police said.

The man walked into the post office about 1 p.m. and threatened the postmaster, Heidi Ann Mudd, 39, with a handgun and demanded money, county police said.

As the man left, he took Ms. Mudd's wallet, police said. No description was available.

Kmart bandit gets jewelry worth $3,700

Jewelry valued at more than $3,700 was stolen from a case at an Annapolis Kmart Wednesday, apparently by someone who unscrewed a lock while the clerk was distracted by another customer, county police said.

Managers of the store in Parole Plaza, reported that 14 14-karat gold bracelets valued at $160 each and five gold necklaces valued at $300 each were stolen.

Police said a bracket locking the cabinet had been unscrewed, but authorities had no suspects.
