Carroll County Family YMCA Director David Stevenson asked the county commissioners yesterday to approve an extension of water and sewer lines to his Washington Road facility.
That would allow the Y to stop using an on-site well and septic system, which have not worked well since the building opened last year.
The Y has had problems with contaminated water and periods of interrupted water supply.
Mr. Stevenson spoke at a public hearing at the County Office Building on amendments to the county water and sewer master plan. The commissioners are taking comments on the amendments and will make a decision at a later date.
Robert Moton to give winter concert
Robert Moton Elementary School's music students will present a winter program for parents and friends at 9:15 a.m. and 7 p.m. tomorrow.
The third-grade general music classes, fifth-grade chorus and fourth- and fifth-grade instrumentalists will perform "From Hay Rides to Sleigh Rides."
