* BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 5100 block of N. Charles St. interrupted a man stealing a mountain bike from his garage Sunday and recovered the bike after struggling with the man. The intruder eluded a police search of the area.

* BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone entered a garage in the 4300 block of St. Paul St. through a door between Saturday and Sunday and stole a 22-inch chain saw and a leaf blower, valued at more than $500.

* SHOOTING: Western District -- A resident of the 5800 block of Arizona Ave. was in the 2400 block of Etting St. early yesterday morning when a gunman shot him in the right hip for no apparent reason. The gunman escaped, and the victim was taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center, where he was in serious but stable condition.

* ASSAULT: Western District -- Police were seeking a man who struck a resident of the 3500 block of Woodbrook Ave. over the head with a hammer during an incident near the victim's home Sunday. The victim was not seriously injured.

* BURGLARY/ARREST: Northwestern District -- Police arrested a man accused of entering the Valu-Mart in the 6800 block of Reisterstown Road through the front door Sunday. The man was being held at the station pending charges.

* SHOOTING: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 300 block of E. 22nd St. was in the 5100 block of Goodnow Road Sunday when a gunman shot him in the leg. The gunman escaped and the victim was taken to Francis Scott Key Medical Center.

* ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A deliveryman for Pizz-A-Boli's in the 6300 block of Belair Road was in the 5500 block of Bowleys Lane Sunday when two men, one with a handgun, robbed him.

* STOLEN TRUCK: Northeastern District -- A tractor-trailer owned by Kuhn Transfer Co. in the 1600 block of York Road and hauling at least $250,000 worth of food products was parked in the 2300 block of Perring Manor Road between Saturday and Sunday when someone drove the rig away.

* SHOOTING: Northeastern District -- Police were seeking a gunman who shot a resident of the 1500 block of N. Potomac St. in the back during an incident Sunday in the 5100 block of Goodnow Road. The victim was in good condition at an area hospital.

* ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Two men, one with a handgun, robbed a resident of the 1400 block of Lochner Road of $25 as she walked in the 5600 block of Woodbrook Road Sunday.

* THEFT: Central District -- Police were seeking a woman who stole property valued at nearly $200 from a resident of the 800 block of Glade Court while the victim was at a house in the 500 block of Robert St. between Saturday and Sunday.

* BURGLARY/ARREST: Southwestern District -- Police arrested a woman accused of entering a house in the 2100 block of Eagle St. Sunday and stealing property valued at $30.

* ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Two residents of the 500 block of Yale Ave. were in the 4800 block of Eldone Ave. Sunday when two men, one with a handgun, robbed them of cash and property, all valued at nearly $700.

* CUTTING: Eastern District -- A resident of the 1700 block of Federal St. was arguing with another man near his home Sunday when he was cut on the head with a knife. The victim was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital for treatment.

* ROBBERY TRY: Eastern District -- A resident of the 1100 block of E. North Ave. was walking near her home Sunday when a man tried to steal her purse. The woman screamed, causing the man to flee without taking her property.


* STOLEN CAR: Towson District -- A burgundy 1991 Infiniti with Maryland tags ZYM842 was stolen from the first block of Bargate Court between Saturday and Sunday. The car was valued at $28,000.

* STOLEN CAR: Towson District -- Someone stole a 1990 Pontiac Grand Am with Texas tags GLG17M from the 6900 block of Diana Ave. Sunday.

* ROBBERY: Cockeysville District -- Two men, one with a semiautomatic handgun, robbed the Subway carryout in the 100 block of Reisterstown Road Sunday night and escaped with more than $100. After the men ordered food, one pulled a gun and ordered an employee to give him money from the cash

register. The men fled in a dark-colored Volkswagen.
