Rain postpones football, soccer

Three Anne Arundel County football games, including the county's oldest rivalry -- Severna Park vs. Annapolis -- were postponed yesterday because of inclement weather.

Unranked Severna Park will visit No. 12 Annapolis in the 35th meeting between the two schools tonight at 7:30. Old Mill will visit Glen Burnie at 2:30 this afternoon, and No. 6 North County will play host to Broadneck at 7:30 p.m.

The rain also caused the postponement of the Maryland Scholastic Association A Conference boys soccer semifinals.

Gilman will visit Curley and Friends will travel to fourth-ranked Calvert Hall on Monday at 3:15 p.m., with the winners playing in Wednesday's championship contest at 3:15 at Essex Community College.

Liberty High's Class 2A, West Region semifinal boys soccer matchup with Middletown, which had been scheduled for today, will be played at 6 p.m. Monday at Thomas Johnson.
