Baltimore City

OFFICER ASSAULTED/ARRESTS: Western District -- Two men were arrested and charged with firing a sawed-off shotgun at Officer Clifton Macer during a foot-chase Thursday in the first block of N. Woodyear St. The officer was not injured, and the reason for the pursuit was not immediately known. Charged with attempted murder of a police officer, possession of a sawed-off shotgun, discharging a firearm, and assault are Rayner Shorter, 18, of the 800 block of N. Gilmor St., and Worsley Sulton, 19, of the 3400 block of Woodland Ave. Each was held pending a bail hearing.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A motorist from the 4800 block of Melbourne Road was stopped in the 800 block of N. Fulton Ave. Thursday when a man entered her car and stole her purse containing cash and property valued at $150.

STOLEN CAR: Western District -- A 1988 Oldsmobile with Maryland tags YYM265 was stolen from the 2000 block of E. Fayette St. Thursday.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A deliveryman for Pizza Appeal in the first block of E. 33rd St. was in the 2700 block of Guilford Ave. Wednesday when two men, one with a handgun, robbed him of $50.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A Washington resident was in the 3300 block of Greenmount Ave. Thursday when a gunman robbed him of a small sum.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Stereo equipment, a TV, jewelry, 60 tapes, a diamond ring, a phone, clothing and tennis shoes were stolen from an apartment in the 4100 block of St. George's Ave.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Property valued at $300 was stolen from Atlantic Building Supplies in the 2700 block of N. Howard St. Thursday.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Two men, one with a gun, robbed a resident of the 400 block of Laurens St. of $200 in the 3900 block of Park Heights Ave. Thursday.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 4100 block of Kathland Ave. was in the 2500 block of Liberty Heights Ave. Thursday when two men robbed him of money, a watch and several pieces of jewelry, all valued at $860.

Baltimore County

ROBBERY: Towson District -- Two men, one with a handgun, robbed the Roy Rogers fast-food outlet in the 6800 block of Loch Raven Boulevard of an undisclosed sum Thursday. After entering and ordering food, one man acted as a lookout while the gunman forced an employee to remove money from a cash register.

ARSON: Towson District -- Someone set fire to an unoccupied 1962 Volkswagen parked in the 100 block of Stanmore Road Tuesday night.

BURGLARY: Cockeysville District -- Someone entered Covahey's liquors in the 2300 block of York Road Thursday and stole cash and 1,000 instant Lotto tickets.
