BALTIMORE CITY

* ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- An employee of the Holstein Paper Co. in the first block of Music Fair Road in Owings Mills, Baltimore County, was in the 4200 block of Edmondson Ave. Wednesday when a man robbed him of an undisclosed sum of money.

* ASSAULT: Western District -- Police were seeking a man who cut his ex-girlfriend on the neck with a knife during an argument at her home in the 1600 block of Lorman Court Wednesday. The woman was not seriously injured.

* ASSAULT/ARREST: Northern District -- Police arrested a man and were holding him at the station after he pointed a shotgun at another man during an incident in the 2800 block of Hampden Ave. Wednesday.

* BURGLARY: Southern District -- Stereo equipment and a VCR were stolen from a house in the first block of Parkin St. Wednesday.

* THEFT: Northeastern District -- Someone entered a car parked in the 3200 block of Brookshire Road Wednesday and stole a wallet containing $31.

* ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 1700 block of E. 31st St. was walking two blocks from her home Wednesday when a man stole her purse containing cash and property, worth less than $10.

* BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Stereo equipment valued at more than $1,000 was stolen from a house in the 6200 block of Plymouth Road Wednesday by someone who entered through a kitchen window.

* BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police were seeking a man who entered a house in the 3800 block of Hamilton Ave. Wednesday and stole several compact discs worth $100.

* BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Someone entered a home in the 4400 block of Towanda Ave. through a rear window Wednesday and stole property valued at more than $800.

* ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 2800 block of Hilldale Ave. was walking a block from his home Wednesday when two men assaulted and robbed him of nearly $500.

* ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Police were seeking a man who robbed a resident of the 4300 block of Maine Ave. of $200 near the victim's home Wednesday.

* ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A collector for the United Insurance Co. in the 3600 block of Timanus Lane was in the 3600 block of Columbus Drive Wednesday when a gunman robbed him of $100.

BALTIMORE COUNTY

* ASSAULT: North Point District -- Someone fired a shot through the front door of an apartment in the 2000 block of Bear Ridge Road in the Hidden Cove Apartments early yesterday, and the bullet buried itself in a living room wall. Police recovered a .25-caliber slug from the wall and found an identical caliber shell casing on the floor outside the apartment. The occupant, a 26-year-old woman, was not injured. Shortly before the shot was fired, a woman was heard banging on and kicking the apartment door in an effort to enter and then was heard running down the steps. Police said whoever fired the shot probably thought the woman was inside the apartment. She has not been located.
