Commissioner's Office -- Awarded negotiating rights for three Cuban players: SS Reynaldo Ordonez to the New York Mets; P Edilberto Oropesa to the Cincinnati Reds; and C Jose Manuel Cuellar to the Seattle Mariners.

Orioles -- Announced the resignation of vice chairman Larry Lucchino.

California Angels -- Exercised their 1994 option on OF Chili Davis. Announced that IF Kurt Stillwell has cleared waivers.

Chicago White Sox -- Agreed to terms on a contract with GM Ron Schueler.

Cleveland Indians -- Declined to exercise their 1994 option on P Bob Ojeda. Declined to offer salary arbitration to C Junior Ortiz.

Colorado Rockies -- Signed free-agent P Marvin Freeman to a one-year contract.

Milwaukee Brewers -- Declined to exercise their 1994 option on IF Dickie Thon.

Oakland Athletics -- Exercised their 1994 option on P Bobby Witt.

Collegiate Commissioners Association -- Reversed itself and declared football player Trenton Ropp eligible to play for Pittsburg State.

Ball State -- Named Ray McCallum men's basketball coach.

La Salle -- Suspended basketball coach Speedy Morris has suspended sophomore F Terquin Mott, a likely starter, for the first four games of the regular season. Mott was arrested Sept. 29 and charged with burglarizing another student's dormitory room.

LeMoyne -- Announced it is performing an internal investigation into allegations that several male athletes may have been betting on college sporting events.

Oklahoma State -- Suspended sophomore starting QB Gary Porter for failure to fulfill academic and team responsibilities.

Oral Roberts -- Announced that freshman basketball G Gerard Harris has left the team to transfer at the end of the current semester.

NB Rider -- Named Darrick Suber men's assistant basketball coach.

Football

NFL -- Fined Miami Dolphins DE Marco Coleman $2,000 for throwing a punch at Indianapolis Colts RB Roosevelt Potts in the second quarter Sunday.

Chicago Bears -- Waived G Vernice Smith. Activated TE Ryan Wetnight from the practice squad.

New York Giants -- Placed WR Mike Sherrard on IR. Activated DE Mark Flythe from the practice squad. Signed WR Kevin Evans and placed him on the practice squad.

Golf

U.S. Golf Association -- Announced that the 1997 U.S. Women's Open will be played at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club, near Cornelius, Ore., giving the state its first major golf tournament since the PGA Championship was in Portland in 1946.

Hockey

Dallas Stars -- Signed G Andy Moog to a one-year contract extension through 1994-95.

Edmonton Oilers -- Recalled D Adam Bennett and LW Alexander Kerch from AHL Cape Breton.

Florida Panthers -- Returned LW Jeff Greenlaw to IHL Cincinnati.

Philadelphia Flyers -- Recalled G Norm Foster from AHL Hershey.

Pittsburgh Penguins -- Recalled LW Ladislav Karabin from IHL Cleveland.
