October 28, 1993

A 33-year-old New Jersey man was beaten and robbed early yesterday as he walked from a Cape St. Clair restaurant to his car, county police reported.

Michael Barb, of Bridgewater, N.J., told police he left Bella's, in the 1300 block of Cape St. Claire Road, at about 2:30 a.m. and was walking toward College Parkway when two men jumped him and began hitting him, police said.

When they demanded his money, Mr. Barb gave them an undisclosed amount of cash, then ran to his car, which was parked nearby, the police report said.
