Maryvale upsets No. 8 NDP

Senior link Megan Doyle scored three goals, including the game-winner at 16:45 into the second half, as visiting Maryvale upset No. 8 Notre Dame Prep, 4-2, in an Association of Independent Schools field hockey game yesterday.

Senior inner Lacie Litz added a goal and an assist to help the Lions' cause.

* Fallston 6, Aberdeen 0: Junior left wing Lauren Grabowski scored two goals as Fallston shut out Aberdeen to win the Harford County title.

Girls soccer

* McDonogh 3, John Carroll 2: Sophomore forward Laurie Schwoy scored two goals and assisted on another as No. 1 McDonogh defeated host John Carroll to clinch the Catholic League title yesterday.

Schwoy scored her first goal when she headed in Christine Coroneos' corner kick in the first half. She scored again in the second on a give-and-go to Jessica Remmel.

* Loch Raven 4, Hereford 1: Bridget Harthausen had a goal and an assist and Mary Edwards had two assists as No. 9 Loch Raven beat host Hereford in a Baltimore County 1A-2A game.

The win keeps Loch Raven undefeated and in first place in the 1A-2A league. Hereford's loss moves Overlea, previously in third place, into a tie for second with Hereford.

* Dulaney 10, Dundalk 0: Aimee Vaughan scored five goals as No. 6 Dulaney defeated host Dundalk in a Baltimore County 3A-4A game.
