Baltimore City

SHOOTING: Eastern District -- A 27-year-old resident of the 600 block of N. Lakewood Ave. was listed in critical but stable condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital after being shot five times while seated in his car in the 500 block of E. North Ave. Monday night. Police said the man returned fire but apparently did not hit his assailants. Police said occupants of a blue car that stopped near the victim's fired nearly 40 rounds from semiautomatic handguns, peppering the car with bullets and hitting the victim twice in the right leg, once in the left shoulder, once in the left foot and once in the left thigh. No arrests were made.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 2600 block of Patapsco Ave. was in the 2600 block of Presbury St. Monday when a man robbed him of his Ruger 9mm semi-automatic handgun valued at $300.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone entered Penn Optical at Mondawmin Mall between Saturday and Monday and stole 42 pairs of eyeglasses and a bank bag containing money, all valued at over $8,000.

CAB HOLDUP: Western District -- A driver for Checker cab in the 2100 block of Huntingdon Ave. was in the 1300 block of Laurens St. Monday when a passenger placed a gun to his head and robbed him of $140.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A resident of the 2400 block of Shirley Ave. was in the 4000 block of Derby Manor Road Monday when two men, one with a handgun, robbed him of cash and jewelry all valued at nearly $1,300.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A gunman robbed the Lord Baltimore Cleaners in the 5600 block of The Alameda Monday and escaped with an undisclosed sum.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone entered a house in the 1100 block of Gittings Ave. Monday and stole a VCR and a fax machine, all valued at $900.

Baltimore County

BURGLARY/ARRESTS: Cockeysville District -- Baltimore County and Pennsylvania State Police arrested three men Monday night after an attempt was made to break into an outdoor storage shed in the 3000 block of Lieb Road in Parkton. During the incident, the property owner fired a shot, causing the intruders to flee. No injuries were reported. Near the scene, county police caught one man. Pennsylvania State Police caught two others when they attempted to leave the area in a stolen car. The three were being held at the Cockeysville District station .

BURGLARY: Cockeysville District -- Someone entered a house in the 2600 block of Monkton Road Monday after breaking a basement window. It was not immediately known what, if any, property was taken.

BURGLARY: Cockeysville District -- Between Oct. 16 and 25, someone entered a house in the first block of Loveton Farms Court in Sparks through the front door. It was not known if any property was stolen.
