Man robbed of liquor, $40 at gunpoint

October 25, 1993

A 35-year-old man walking down a Brooklyn Park street Thursday was robbed by a man in a car who stole beer, liquor and $40 at gunpoint.

George Henry Evans Jr. of Baltimore told police he was walking in the 5200 block of Ballman Ave., near Kramme Avenue, a few minutes before midnight when a late model Honda Accord pulled up next to him.

Police said the driver, who was between 25 and 30 years old, threatened Mr. Evans with a chrome revolver and demanded the six-pack of beer and half-pint of liquor he was carrying.

He also stole $40 from the victim's wallet.

No description of any of the car's six occupants was available.
