Children's store to celebrate opening

October 25, 1993

Talbots Kids in The Mall in Columbia will sponsor a grand opening celebration Saturday and Sunday. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Columbia Foundation to support county programs for children.

A preopening shopping reception will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Oct. 30. Visitors may enter a raffle for a $100 store gift certificate and participate in the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m.

County Executive Charles Ecker and Richard Talkin, president of the Columbia Foundation, will preside.

The celebration continues through Sunday with appearances by story-book character "Madeline"; and balloon sculpting, juggling and magic by "The Dean of Magic." There will also be Halloween face painting and storytelling.
