GREENSBORO, N.C — WASHINGTON -- Junior forward Michelle Demko broke a scoreless tie in the first overtime to lift Maryland over American, 1-0, in double overtime yesterday.

Kelly Amonte earned an assist on the game-winner.

Maryland (12-3-1) outshot American (8-5-1), 15-13. Maryland's Maren Rojas made one save, four fewer than American's Lisa Gervase.

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Kary Powell had two goals and an assist as North Carolina-Greensboro (11-3, 4-1) defeated Towson State (2-7, 2-4) in a Big South Conference game.

Denise Perrone scored two goals as Anne Arundel CC downed visiting Dundalk CC in a Maryland JuCo game. Anne Arundel sophomore goalkeeper Amy Fitcher recorded five saves for her first shutout.

zTC Jola Palumbo added a goal to help the Pioneers' cause.
