Edmund Mundell, 87, a retired accountant for a New York City bank, died Tuesday of pneumonia and kidney failure at the Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis.

He was born in Jersey City, N.J., and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y. He moved from Brooklyn to Shore Acres in Arnold eight years ago.

He had been an accountant for the Fiduciary Trust Co. and earlier had worked as an inspector at the Grumman and Republic aviation plants on Long Island, N.Y., and as a salesman for the Consolidated Edison Co., a utility.

He lived for a time in Malverne, N.Y., and had been a member of the volunteer fire department there.

Services were set for 1 p.m. today at the Barranco and Sons Funeral Home, Ritchie Highway and Robinson Road, Severna Park.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, the former Edna M. Fossum; a son, Lawrence F. Mundell of Edgewater; a daughter, Lynne M. Murphy of Arnold; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
