Telemarketing executive to lead L.A. seminar

Malynda Madzel, president of Custom Telemarketing Services, a Columbia-based telemarketing agency, will be a seminar leader at the International Association of Amusement Park Attractions next month in Los Angeles.

Ms. Madzel will help present "The Use of Professional Telemarketing for Group Sales."

Holland, Buckley get MAXI Awards

Laurel Holland of Columbia-based Holland Design and Elizabeth P. Buckley, marketing manager for Columbia Management, a subsidiary of the Rouse Co., both received the 1993 MAXI Award for their development and implementation of an advertising campaign for Hickory Ridge Village Center.

The award, presented in New York City this month, goes to shopping centers and businesses that implement successful marketing, advertising and promotional campaigns.

HCC professor receives doctorate

Pamela Morgan Cornell, associate professor of human

development at Howard Community College, recently received a doctoral degree in higher education and psychology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.

Her dissertation: "Investigating the Economic Returns from Higher Education for Re-entry Women."

Kayla Advertising recognizes 3 employees

Kayla Advertising, a specialty advertising distributor offering custom imprinted promotional items, recently cited three personnel for outstanding service.

Toni O'Grince in customer service and Terri McElroy, office manager, have been awarded cash bonuses and food gifts.

Shannon Mennell, a part-time administrative assistant, has been awarded a cash bonus.

The company is in Columbia.
