Johns Hopkins rallies, but falls to Muhlenberg, 20-16 QB Guglielmo leads comeback attempt

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- Muhlenberg built a 14-point halftime advantage and then withstood a comeback attempt by Johns Hopkins for a 20-16 victory in a Centennial Athletic Conference game yesterday.

Johns Hopkins quarterback John Guglielmo, who came off the bench to direct two scoring drives that tied the score at 14, drove the Blue Jays to the Muhlenberg 20 in the game's final moments, but was unable to score.

Muhlenberg quarterback Saun McCullough threw for 249 yards and two touchdowns, including a 26-yard pass to Craig Bokus with 13:49 remaining in regulation that gave it a 20-14 lead.

Bokus had a 24-yard scoring run, and McCullough threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Bill Van Dyke, which gave Muhlenberg its 14-0 first-half lead.

With 11:43 left in the third quarter, Hopkins' Guglielmo scored on a 1-yard run, then threw an 8-yard scoring pass to Pete Lambis with 3:42 left in the quarter.
