25 Years Ago (Week of Oct. 6-12, 1968):

* A 16-year-old boy was charged with calling in a false bomb threat to Atholton High School.

* Marie Watts of Savage complained to the County Commissioners about the noise from the unmuffled pipes on two of the Savage Fire Company's fire engines. She presented the commissioners with a petition signed by 75 residents who lived within a three-block radius of the fire house.

50 Years Ago (Week of Oct. 10-16, 1943):

* Manning of airplane spotter posts throughout the county was scaled down to a period of three hours each Wednesday afternoon.

* It was announced this week that registration for War Ration Book No. 4 would be conducted at county public schools. It is necessary to present a copy of the previous ration book in order to register for the new one.
