Hydrant flushing will discolor water

Fire hydrants in the towns of Hampstead and Manchester will be flushed beginning at about 9 p.m. tomorrow.

The flushing will cause discoloration of water Thursday.

Residents are advised to avoid doing laundry on Thursday, and to draw enough water tomorrow night for cooking and consumption Thursday morning.

Residents are also advised to open all their faucets Thursday morning to allow the water to run until clear water appears.
