An Annapolis man was shot several times as he fled assailants Friday morning in the first block of College Creek Terrace, city police said.

Omar Natiffe Black Sr., 22, of the 800 block of Bestgate Road was flown to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore where he was in good condition last night.

Mr. Black was standing with acquaintances when two men approached. One pointed a handgun. When they demanded money from Mr. Black, he ran to a house where they caught up and fired.

Police described the suspects as black and in their early 20s. One, about 5-foot-9, 155 pounds, was wearing a green Miami Hurricanes baseball hat and jacket. The other, 5-foot-7, 145 pounds, was wearing a black Champion sweat shirt.

Home break-in suspect charged

City police have charged a Pasadena man with breaking into an Annapolis home in the 1900 block of Copeland Street.

Monte Lavette Jones, 22, of the 7900 block of Liberty Circle was being held at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center Friday on an $8,500 bond.
