* Harper's Choice: 10900 block of Bushwood Way: Front and back Maryland registration tags labeled YWM239 were stolen from a 1987 Mazda 626 Wednesday or Thursday. Police said this is a serious crime because stolen tags often are used in the commission of other offenses.

Hickory Ridge: 10400 block of Hickory Ridge Road: Someone pried open and entered a rear window of a residence Wednesday and took an undetermined amount of property. Police said the home's front door had also been forced.

10800 block of Hickory Ridge Road: Someone attempted to pry open the lock of Columbia Carpets Tuesday or Wednesday morning.

* Town Center: 10400 block of Little Patuxent Parkway: A shredder was stolen between Oct. 1 and Tuesday after thieves pried open the office door of one business and crawled through drop ceilings to enter adjacent businesses.

* Wilde Lake: 10300 block of Nightmist Court: Personal property, including a man's wallet, was stolen from a 1988 Ford Escort Wednesday or Thursday.
