Maryland scores 2-1 upset of 8th-ranked William & Mary Women

Senior Betsy Elder scored her first goal of the season with 2 minutes left as Maryland upset No. 8 William & Mary, 2-1 -- the first win by the Terps over a ranked team.

Maryland (8-2-1) took a 1-0 lead on junior Terri Rich's goal -- her third of the season -- at the 53:44 mark. Tribe sophomore Natalie Neaton evened the score at 63:18.

Cailin Mullins made nine saves for the Terps. Maren Rojas recorded two for William & Mary (6-3-1).

* UMBC 3, Navy 0: Freshman striker Kris Einarson scored two goals -- at 7:06 and 14:09 -- to lead host UMBC (8-6) past Navy (1-4). Senior halfback Nicole Kelley added one goal -- at 27:11 in the first -- to

help the Retrievers' cause. UMBC outshot Navy 16-2.

* Wheeling Jesuit 2, College of Notre Dame 1: Midfielder Carrie Plute scored two first-half goals as Wheeling Jesuit downed host College of Notre Dame (7-2). Sophomore forward Corina Riismandel had Notre Dame's only goal. Wheeling Jesuit outshot College of Notre Dame 7-5. Gena Lathroum made six saves for Notre Dame.

* Essex CC 5, Catonsville CC 0: Jill Fennekohl added two goals for No. 5 Essex CC (6-1-1).
