Marlboro Team Penske -- Announced that Al Unser Jr. will join Emerson Fittipaldi and Paul Tracy next season. All three will drive 1994 team-built chassis powered by the new Ilmor Indy V8 engine.


Florida Marlins -- Claimed 1B Greg Colbrunn off waivers from the Montreal Expos. Sent P Jim Corsi, C Steve Decker and C Mitch Lyden outright to Triple-A Edmonton.

Houston Astros -- Reinstated IF Juan Guerrero from the restricted list and outrighted his contract to Triple-A Tucson.

Montreal Expos -- Sent C Rob Fitzpatrick and C Joe Siddall outright to Triple-A Ottawa. Reinstated OF Moises Alou from the 60-day DL.

Pittsburgh Pirates -- Named Bobby Meacham manager and Wayne Garland pitching coach at Double-A Carolina.

Salt Lake City (Triple-A) -- Announced that team will be called the Buzz.


Dallas Mavericks -- Re-signed G Morlon Wiley. Signed C Greg Dreiling, C Darren Morningstar, G Tim Brooks, G Sean Gay, F Steffond Johnson, F Jose Vargas and F Jared Miller.

Detroit Pistons -- Waived F Mark Aguirre, who has a career scoring average of 20.4.

Houston Rockets -- Signed F Ashraf Amaya and F Scott Meents.

Los Angeles Clippers -- Signed G Terry Dehere.

San Diego Chargers -- Placed G Eric Moten on IR due to an injured knee. Signed P Kent Sullivan.

San Francisco 49ers -- Waived LB Larry Kelm. Activated T Jason Childs from their practice squad.

Seattle Seahawks -- Announced that LB E. J. Junior (torn anterior cruciate knee ligament) will officially go on IR today.


Legends of Golf -- Announced it will return to a two-man team format in 1994.


Mighty Ducks of Anaheim -- Assigned G Mikhail Shtalenkov to IHL San Diego.

Edmonton Oilers -- Acquired D Adam Bennett from the Chicago Blackhawks for C Kevin Todd.

Los Angeles Kings -- Signed G Robb Stauber to a two-year contract. Sent D Brent Thompson to IHL Phoenix. Recalled D Dominic Lavoie from Phoenix.

New Jersey Devils -- Named Lou Reycroft scout.

New York Rangers -- Sent C Daniel Lacroix to AHL Binghamton.

Ottawa Senators -- Signed LW Pavol Demitra.

Pittsburgh Penguins -- Signed G Roberto Romano and assigned him to IHL Cleveland.


America's Cup '95 Defense Committee -- Appointed Bill Ficker, who helped defend the America's Cup aboard Intrepid in 1970, as a member.


U.S. National Team -- Signed G Tony Meola, G Brad Friedel, TC Desmond Armstrong (Columbia), M Chris Henderson and M Dominic Kinnear.


International Tennis Federation -- Fined the U.S. Tennis Association $1,500 for Andre Agassi's withdrawal from a relegation match in the Davis Cup against the Bahamas on Sept. 26, and suspended Agassi from playing for the United States in its next Davis Cup match.
