Hawk Ridge plans to be resubmitted

October 06, 1993

Powers Home Builders has changed engineering companies for its Hawk Ridge Farm development in Sykesville.

MRA, a Towson engineering company, will resubmit concept plans for four proposed new sections off Obrecht Road at the north end of town.

The development, which will have several hundred homes at completion, has had grading and sediment control problems for about six months.

"The new engineers will be meeting with the town planning commission in November," said Town Manager James L. Schumacher. "We have told them their grading plan must address all our previous concerns."

The commission detailed those concerns to Carroll Land Services in June before the developer changed to MRA.

Mr. Schumacher said the commission also must receive all engineering reports 20 days prior to its Nov. 1 meeting.
