Milford Mill slips past Hereford

Kamonte Harper's 1-yard touchdown run capped a Milford Mill comeback in its 14-8 win over visiting Hereford (1-4, 0-1) in a Baltimore County 1A-2A game.

Hereford led 8-6 at halftime before Harper's score completed a nine-play, 60-yard drive to start the third quarter. Andre Eure (nine carries, 83 yards) completed the two-point conversion for the Millers (3-2, 1-0) with a pass to Carlos Pearson.

Bel Air 40, N. Harford 6

Bel Air never looked back in keeping host North Harford (0-4, 0-5) winless in a Harford County League game. Bell Castro went 10-for-13 for 110 yards and two touchdown passes and Dick Barwick rushed for two scores to lead the Bobcats (2-1, 2-3). Terry Vail rushed 11 times for 103 and one touchdown for Bel Air.

Perry Hall 31, Patapsco 6

Mark Franklin had 146 yards total offense and two touchdowns while touching the ball only six times and running back Mandel Marsh ran for 64 yards on five carries as No. 14 Perry Hall (4-1, 4-0) beat Patapsco (2-3, 0-3) in a Baltimore County 3A-4A game.

Jason Bloom went 4-for-4 on extra points and ended the game with a 45-yard field goal.

Towson 38, Lansdowne 0

Scott Carpenter rushed for 134 yards on four carries, scored three touchdowns and ran for a two-point conversion as Towson (4-1) shut out visiting Lansdowne. Andy Matz had five carries for 105 yards and a touchdown and had two receptions for 47 yards.

McDonogh 40, Severn 3

Dwayne Stukes ran for three touchdowns in the second quarter as No. 5 McDonogh (4-0) defeated Severn (2-3). Stukes rushed for 116 yards on 12 carries.

Gilman 28, Boys' Latin 0

Quarterback Mark Cornes threw a 14-yard touchdown pass and ran for a score as No. 3 Gilman (3-0) shut down Boys' Latin (0-3).

Franklin 32, Loch Raven 14

Quarterback Chris Demetrakis completed 7 of 9 passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Indians (2-3) past Loch Raven.

Eastern Tech 36, Dulaney 6

Senior running back Ira McCullough rushed for four touchdowns in leading Eastern Tech (3-1, 3-2) over Dulaney (0-3, 0-5) in a Baltimore County 3A-4A game. McCullough carried 24 times for 273 yards. As a team, the Mavericks rushed for 404 yards.

Woodlawn 20, Parkville 0

Keion Carpenter ran for a touchdown and threw for another, leading Woodlawn (5-0, 4-0) past host Parkville (1-4, 1-3) in a Baltimore County 3A-4A League game. The Warriors recorded seven sacks and recovered three fumbles.

Douglass-PG 22, Southern 16

Southern's Corey Contee scored a touchdown and ran for a two-point conversion, but the No. 9 Bulldogs (4-1) fell to Douglass of Prince George's County (4-1).

Wilde Lake 14, Glenelg 0

Mike Green gained 148 yards on 23 carries and scored a touchdown and defensively had two sacks to lead the Wildecats (3-2, 2-0) over Glenelg (4-1, 1-1).

Howard 8, Hammond 7

Howard senior running back Guy Smith scored a 14-yard touchdown to pull the Lions (4-1, 1-1) to within a point, 7-6, of the Bears (3-2, 1-1).

On the ensuing point-after try, Howard holder Carlton Fox improvised after a high snap from center and squeezed a pass between two defenders to senior Scott Strother for a two-point conversion and an 8-7 Howard lead.
