Arrest warrant charges New York man with bigamy Suspect married Sykesville woman

October 03, 1993

A 35-year-old Middleboro, N.Y., man who married a Sykesville woman while allegedly still married to another woman in Tennessee is wanted on an arrest warrant issued by a District Court commissioner in Westminster Friday.

The warrant charges him with bigamy.

Jarvis R. Miracle is charged with marrying Carolyn Mills of Sykesville on Dec. 24, 1991 and abandoning her in July 1992 after they had moved from Maryland to Tennessee.

Ms. Mills learned of the prior marriage recently when she contacted an attorney in an attempt to obtain an annulment of her own.

Ms. Mills said her husband had shown her a divorce document, but she later learned that it referred to his first wife and not Patricia Ann Myers, his current wife, who lives in Tennessee.
