* Fourteen companies of midshipmen accompanied the football team to Baltimore aboard the steamer Bay Belle for a night game at the Baltimore Stadium. Navy defeated Cornell, 46-7. -- The Sun, Oct. 2, 1943.

* Anne Arundel County led the state in the number of pieces of game killed by hunters last year. -- The Sun, Oct. 9, 1943.

* Mrs. William V. McCready, wife of the Annapolis mayor, will sponsor the U.S.S. Annapolis, a 303-foot frigate, tomorrow when the warship is launched at the Lorain, Ohio yards of the American Shipbuilding Company. -- The Sun, Oct. 15, 1943.

* The Public Service Commission denied permission to the Red Star Motor Coaches, Inc. to operate bus service between Baltimore and Annapolis in competition with the Baltimore and Annapolis railroad. -- The Sun, Oct. 27, 1943.
