Freedom Optimist Soccer

* Grades K through 1st -- J. J. Fiorani edged The Canopy, 3-2. Michael Janyska, Kim Fiorani and Garrett Reeves had goals for the winners and Tom Bennett, John Ermer and Katie Strickler added assists.

Katie Hartlieb and Danny Yater scored for The Canopy.

Matthew Latham led a balanced attack with two goals, as his Carroll County Bank and Trust team topped Ace Hardware, 6-4.

Jason Rawlings, Sean McNelis, Ian Canhill and Amanda Pizzillo also scored for the winners.

Chesapeake Steel blanked Fisher's Carrolltowne Crown, 3-0, as Tyler Conaway, Mark Henninger and Amber Nelson supplied the goals.

Sean Locklear scored nine goals to lead Classic Kitchens to a 10-0 romp over Harvest Inn. Daniel Brown had the 10th goal.

Two goals by Sarah Bohn were all that Sykesville Video could muster in an 8-2 loss to Eldersburg Paint.

Sykesville's Chloe Nichols and Matthew Stevens had assists.

* 1st- and 2nd-grade boys -- Robert Reahl and Shawn Faries supplied the goals as Jose Gonzalez nipped Underwood Electric, 2-1.

Wesley Hogg scored on a Nathan Miller assist for Underwood.

China Dragon and McDougall's Pharmacy tied, 2-2.

Chad Arnold had China Dragon's goals and David Tart added an assist. Josh Wunder and Shawn Houck tallied for McDougall's.

Joe Buppert scored the game's only goal with an assist from Doug Russenburger, as Sykesville Postal squeezed out a 1-0 win over Moto Photo.

Jeff Barnes Chevrolet tied Westminster Bank and Trust, 1-1.

Tim Hensley, with an assist from Anthony Nardi, scored for Barnes.

Nicholas Denney scored five goals as his Sykesville Moose squad edged Little Vinnie's Tatoos, 6-5.

Chris Struhar added a goal for Moose, while Ryan Boyle had three scores for Vinnie's and Kevin Brillhart had two. Vinnie's keeper Cody Krause had six saves.

* 2nd- and 3rd-grade girls -- CompuGen beat Long & Foster, 4-2.

Sarah Hannon, Jennifer Morgenson, Natasha Daily and Lauren Blair scored for CompuGen and Blair added an assist. Jackie Hastings and Becky Webster tallied for Long & Foster.

O'Conner, Keehner, Hogg and McCrone nipped O'Conor, Piper and Flynn, 4-3.

Allison Hammond, Erin McManus, Sarah Raines and Jennifer Yasho scored for the winners while Maria Hogg and Lindsay Schraf contributed assists.

Kelly Kasper scored both of her team's goals as Willoughby Plumbing got past Mar-Lin Investors, 2-1.

Lauren Bair and Kelly Waterman assisted on Kasper's goals. Rachel Harmon had Mar-Lin's tally.

Pap-Pap's Restaurant edged Little Caesar's, 2-1, behind two goals from Diane Krainak and assists by Chelsea Loskarn and Laura Keidel.

Lindsay Reeda had Little Caesar's goal with an assist from Caitlin Brilhart.

* 3rd- and 4th-grade boys -- Eldersburg Elementary beat Interstate Seeding, 4-2, as Brian Phillip paced the winners with three goals.

Kevin Warner added a goal and Andrew Du--, Eric Worley and Lee Hufnagel contributed assists for Eldersburg Elementary. Justin Hagen and Brad Schleicher scored for Interstate.

Brad Thompson scored three goals and Hans Mahler added one, as McDonald's White Lightning beat Masci Restaurant/Roy Rogers, 4-2.

Danny Hensley and Steve Allia contributed assists for the winners.

Kyle Alteman's two scores paced Masci. Kevin Pahl and Blake Stewart had assists.

* 4th- and 5th-grade girls -- J. J. Fiorani Home Improvements blanked Hutchinson's Flowers, 7-0.

Erin Albright scored twice, and Kelli Fiorani, Ashley Heir, Jane Lebherz, Kristen Schaefer and Ashley Trumpler scored once.

Crystal Rivas scored all of her team's goals as George's IGA beat Bartolini and Seamannt, 3-2. Melissa Nagle had an assist for George's.

Katie Pahl's three goals paced Haight Funeral Home's attack in its 4-0 shutout of Royal Oak Federal.

Behnaz Nabavian added a goal and two assists, and Cortney Katterman and Lauren Kiessling also had assists for Haight.

* 5th- and 6th-grade boys -- Steve Skiratko and Tommy Warner scored three goals apiece, Todd Farnum had two and Jesse Stank one to lead Met Life's 9-1 rout of Pizza Hut.

Russell Sharp had two assists for Met Life. Anthony Alcarese had the goal and Rick Hogg an assist for Pizza Hut. Hogg, who also played goalkeeper, had 12 saves.

Marty's Oriole Mart beat P.A.T. Md., 2-1. Mike Dorsey had P.A.T.'s goal, with an assist from Michael Powers.

Tangier's Crab House defeated Dr. Passarello's Drillers, 6-2.

Sean Lawler and Paul Dougherty had two goals apiece for the winners, while Andrew Morse and Joe Kaniecki each added one.

Goalkeeper Tim Hart had nine saves for Tangier's. Zack Egolf and Kevin Carter tallied for the Drillers and Sean Hollars added an assist.

* 6th- and 7th-grade girls -- Vince's Video beat Eldersburg Inn, 7-2, behind Amy Williams' three goals and two from Rachel Wilson.

Kim Campbell and Betsy Snyder also tallied for Vince's. Katie Gardner, Snyder, Kim Campbell and Laura Moreau added assists.

Stacey Campbell scored Eldersburg Inn's goals and Amanda Bange had an assist.

Kurt Linkoff, DDS tied Eldersburg Pool, 1-1. Carrie Albright had the Linkoff goal.

Angie Baer, Ashley Hall, Shannon Knight and Jamie Ball supplied the goals as Pat's Framing defeated Platte Insurance, 4-1.

* 7th- through 10th-grade boys -- Ryan Showman scored twice and Mike Meyers, Josh Brandt and Adam Hughson each tallied once, as Eldersburg Inn beat E. W. Beck's Pub, 5-1.

Showman and Mike Benham had assists for the winners, while Doug Richmond scored for Beck.

C-A Automotive blanked Carrolltowne Liquors, 4-0, behind Joshua Elder's three goals and one by Jon Sachetti.

Vince Alcrese tacked on two assists and Tom Freedam had one assist.
