Man charged after marijuana raid

A Westminster man was arrested Tuesday after investigators found a quarter-pound of marijuana at his home in the 2400 block of Old Washington Road, police said.

John Byron Wagner III, 37, was charged with distribution, possession and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. He is being held on $50,000 full bond at the Carroll County Detention Center.

A bail review hearing is scheduled for today.

Westminster police officers and members of the county's Narcotics Task Force raided Mr. Wagner's home Tuesday evening as part of a continuing investigation, city police reported.

After searching the house, the officers found the marijuana which has a street value of $600 to $700, police said.

Police said they expect to make other arrests in the case.

POLICE

* Westminster: A resident of East Main Street reported Tuesday that someone spray-painted the hood and passenger-side door of her car while it was parked in an alley next to her home. Loss is estimated at $100.

FIRE

* Westminster: Westminster, Reese, Pleasant Valley and Reisterstown of Baltimore County responded to a building fire on Baltimore Boulevard at 10:11 a.m. Tuesday. Units were out 29 minutes.

Westminster responded to a fire alarm on Long Valley Road at 8:35 a.m. Tuesday. Units were out 40 minutes.

* Reese: Reese and Westminster responded to a fire alarm on Old Westminster Pike at 9:21 a.m. Tuesday. Units were out 10 minutes.

* Smallwood: Gamber responded to a brush fire on Deer Park Road at 4:24 p.m. Tuesday. Units were out 27 minutes.
