A brief item in yesterday's Business section incorrectly stated the location of a fire at a Crown Central Petroleum tank farm. The site was near Pasadena, Texas.

Blast at Crown tank farm injures 1

A tanker truck that was being loaded with fuel at a Crown Central Petroleum Corp. tank farm in Houston burst into flames yesterday, injuring one employee.

The tank farm, which stores refined products, is about a mile from a Crown refinery, which was not affected by the fire.


Mercedes to reveal site of U. S. plant

Mercedes-Benz AG, the German automaker, is expected to announce today where in the United States it will build its $300 million vehicle assembly plant.

A Mercedes spokesman said the automaker would then hold a news briefing at the site tomorrow with Mercedes' top executives, including the chairman, Helmut Werner. Mercedes announced plans in April to open an assembly plant in the United States by 1997 to build up to 60,000 four-wheel-drive vehicles a year, likely priced in the mid-$30,000 range.
