Jewelry, cash stolen from New Windsor home

Jewelry and cash totaling more than $6,200 were stolen from the home of Daniel and Beverly Roderick, in the 200 block of Church St. in New Windsor, between Sept. 11 and 19.

Mr. Roderick said a chimney fire in December did $50,000 damage to the house, and many workers and delivery people have been in and out of the building during the reconstruction.

Mr. Roderick, who runs a floor-covering business out of his house, said cash, several watches, a solitaire diamond and wedding ring were missing when he looked for the articles on Sept. 19.

State police verified that there was no forced entry to the house.

The investigation is continuing.
