Coyle's 2 lead Towson by Radford, 3-0 COLLEGE SOCCER

Junior Pat Coyle scored two first-half goals to lead Towson State (4-3, 2-1) past visiting Radford (0-8-1, 0-2), 3-0, in a Big South Conference men's soccer game yesterday.

Coyle, who scored the game-winning goal in the Tigers' 2-1 win over Maryland on Wednesday, gave Towson a quick 1-0 lead against the Highlanders when he took a pass from Frank Zampardi and scored three minutes into the game.

* James Madison 4, Mount St. Mary's 0: James Madison (7-0-1), scored three goals in the final 10 minutes and beat host Mount St. Mary's (5-3).

* Campbell 6, UBMC 2: Toni Siikala and Brian Hunter scored two goals each as host Campbell (7-1, 5-0) beat UMBC (5-1, 3-1) in a Big South Conference game.

* Merchant Marine Academy 4, Goucher 2: Phil Midas scored two goals as the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (6-3-1) defeated host Goucher (2-5).

* Catonsville 7, Essex 1: Chris Walton scored two goals and had one assist to lead Catonsville (2-1-1).

* Dundalk CC 4, Hagerstown JC 2: Paul Luca scored two goals to lead Dundalk Community College (2-4, 2-2) past Hagerstown Junior College (1-3, 0-1).

* Washington Bible 3, Villa Julie 2: Dave Sponable scored his second goal of the game with two minutes remaining in regulation to lift host Washington Bible over Villa Julie (1-5).

* Gettysburg 3, Washington College 0: Gettysburg (7-0-1, 6-0-1) outshot visiting Washington College (4-4-1, 4-3-1) en route to the victory.


* Georgetown 1, Mount St. Mary's 0: Georgetown's Katie Button scored 25 seconds into the first overtime to lift the Hoyas over visiting Mount St. Mary's (0-4).

* Salisbury 1, Catonsville 1, 2 OT: Salisbury's Lisa Garrison (North County) made 28 saves and Catonsville's Dawn Perkins (Lansdowne) made nine saves to lift Salisbury State (2-0-1) past host Catonsville Community College (5-1-1).

* UMBC 8, Liberty 0: Kristie Kruger and Denise Schilte each scored two goals and had two assists to lead visiting UMBC (5-5, 2-1).

* Goucher 7, Villa Julie 2: Freshman Christine Simeone scored three goals and also collected two saves as the backup goalie as Goucher (2-5-1) won.

* Essex CC 4, Frostburg State 0: Freshman Colleen Grady (Havre de Grace) needed to make only one save for her third straight shutout as Essex (3-0) won.

* Phila. Textile 2, Notre Dame 0: Nancy Fenimore and Moe McGinley scored to lift Division II Philadelphia Textile (6-0).

* Loyola 1, Niagara 0: Betsy Given (Broadneck) scored the game winner with 15 minutes left as Loyola (4-1-1, 2-0-1) beat Niagara ,, (3-3, 0-1).

* Swarthmore 2, Western Maryland 0: First-half goals by Madeline Fraser and Miriam Marx lifted Swarthmore (4-4, 1-0).
