* New Windsor: State police are searching for a vandal who apparently used a slingshot to shoot a ball bearing through a window of the Stone Chapel United Methodist Church last week. An official of the church told investigators the cost of damage was about $100.


* Taneytown: Taneytown firefighters helped Adams County fire units fight a building fire on Lakeview Road at 1:24 a.m. Sunday. They were out for one hour and 46 minutes.

* Adams County, Pa.: Taneytown, Harney, Union Bridge, Westminster, Kingsdale and Littlestown fire companies were dispatched for the odor of gasoline in a house on George Street at 5:31 p.m. Saturday. All units returned in 13 minutes.

* New Windsor: Engines from the New Windsor fire station responded to a report of wires on fire on Pipe Creek Road at 8:49 p.m. Saturday. They were out for 22 minutes.
