Age: 17

Accomplishments: In addition to playing on the school's varsity football team, Tony is Atholton's top ROTC student and has won many accolades throughout his four years in the program. He is now the Battalion Commander, in charge of all ROTC cadets at the school.

"It's a good way to meet people," he says. "You learn a lot about leadership skills."

Aside from his ROTC activities, he serves as secretary of the National Honor Society and also plays on the school's varsity lacrosse team. He holds a 3.5 grade point average.

He won the U.S. Army Recruiting Command Award last year for promoting military excellence in ROTC. As a freshman, he won the Military Order of World Wars Award of Merit.

Plans:He wants to study sports medicine at Pennsylvania State University.

His comments:"To be a good leader, you first have to be a good follower. People try to boss people around, and leading is not bossing. If you're on the other side of that, you'll see what's going on."
