Charles R. O'Melia, professor and chairman of the department of geography and environmental engineering at the Johns Hopkins School of Engineering, has been awarded the 1993 Gordon Maskew Fair Medal by the Water Environment Federation, formerly the Water Pollution Control Federation.

Jerry L. Prince, an assistant professor in the Johns Hopkins University School of Engineering, has won a 1993 Presidential Faculty Fellow Award from the National Science Foundation.

Herb Findeisen, a mathematics instructor at Carroll Community College, was the recipient of the college's Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Award.

Doris Jump and Robert Herbert Jump of Brooklyn Park celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Ocean City on Aug. 21 with dinner at Phillips by the Sea Restaurant.

Peter C. Searson and Gerald J. Meyer, two scientists at The Johns Hopkins University, have been awarded a $452,000, three-year subcontract by the Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory to develop new technology for

converting sunlight to electricity.
