Annapolis Bancshares extends share offering

Annapolis Bancshares Inc., parent company of Bank of Annapolis, has extended its offering of units to the community for 45 days to Oct. 4.

Subscriptions for 20,000 units, which consist of one share of common stock and one warrant to purchase one share of common stock each, were received by the end of business Aug. 20 following the extension from July 14.

Subscriptions for a total of 51,800 units have been reported. Up to 250,000 units will be offered at $10.50 a unit.

Westinghouse wins Postal Service contract

Westinghouse Electronic Systems Group has won the contract to manufacture automation equipment for the United States Postal Service (USPS).

The $8.9 million contract will require Westinghouse to build 1,300 wide area bar code reader systems designed to read bar codes printed anywhere on a package, instead of just on specific parts of an envelope as current systems do.

Westinghouse has manufactured over $150 million in equipment for USPS since 1989.

Law offices open in Glen Burnie

Susan Deyman Demianchik has opened a law office on Crain Highway in Glen Burnie under the firm name the Law Offices of Susan Deyman.

The office handles local and state taxes, and provides legal representation for the defense of federal and state tax assessments and tax liens.
