Owners seek to subdivide 24-acre site

The owners of 24 acres near Bellhaven and Bayside Beach roads have proposed dividing it into an 11-lot subdivision called Scarlet Oaks.

County planners will critique the plans of Andre and Patricia Francois during an Oct. 14 meeting at the Department of Planning and Code Enforcement in Parole. The meeting begins at 8:45 a.m. and is open to the public.

The property is adjacent to Bellhaven Woods and is zoned R-2, allowing two houses per acre. The actual lot sizes would range from one to three acres, according to the subdivision application.

Lots without houses are projected to sell for $50,000 to $100,000.
