Two men accused of taking woman's purse at gunpoint

Two Severn men were charged with robbing a woman of her purse at gunpoint Saturday, county police reported yesterday.

According to police, Denise Gaskin, 35, was walking to her car, parked in the 600 block of Hallmark Drive in Severn, at 11:46 p.m. when two armed men demanded her purse, which contained $280.

She refused and the men demanded it again before one of them allegedly snatched the purse and the pair ran down the street. One of them fired a shot.

Officers on patrol heard the shot and saw two men running toward Quarterfield Road. They caught two men, who were taken to Western District to be charged.

Charles Parker, 18, of the 1700 block of Richfield Drive and

Anthony Terrell Harris, 18, of the 1800 block of Jay Bird Court were charged with armed robbery and possession of a handgun.
