Hagan Racing Chevrolet -- Announced that IndyCar driver John Andretti will compete on the NASCAR Winston Cup circuit for the next three years, starting in 1994. He will replace Terry Labonte, who is moving to Hendrick Motorsports.

Orioles -- Obtained OF Lonnie Smith from the Pittsburgh Pirates for two minor-leaguers to be named. Asked unconditional waivers on 1B Glenn Davis. Sent P Armando Benitez and OF Alex Ochoa from Single-A Frederick to Double-A Bowie. Placed OF Stanton Cameron on Bowie's DL.

Chicago White Sox -- Acquired C Doug Lindsey from Philadelphia as the player to be named in the Sept. 1 trade of P Donn Pall to the Phillies. Announced a five-year contract extension for broadcaster Ken Harrelson through the 1999 season.

Colorado Rockies -- Recalled IF Nelson Liriano from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Florida Marlins -- Sent OF Monty Fariss outright to Triple-A Edmonton.

Kansas City Royals -- Recalled 1B Bob Hamelin, SS David Howard, 2B Terry Shumpert, 3B Phil Hiatt, IF Craig Wilson (Annapolis High; Anne Arundel CC), P Mark Gardner and former Orioles P Dennis Rasmussen. Called up P Jeff Granger, their first-round pick in the 1993 draft, from Single-A Eugene.

Montreal Expos -- Recalled IF Charlie Montoyo from Triple-A Ottawa. Designated P Pete Young for assignment.

New York Mets -- Recalled 3B Butch Huskey from Double-A Binghamton.

Philadelphia Phillies -- Recalled P Brad Brink from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Pittsburgh Pirates -- Placed P Randy Tomlin and P Zane Smith on the 60-day DL. Waived IB-OF Mike Bell for the purpose of giving him his unconditional release. Recalled OF Midre Cummings and P Paul Miller from Triple-A Buffalo and 1B Rich Aude, P Danny Miceli and SS Tony Womack from Double-A Carolina.

San Diego Padres -- Purchased the contract of P Rudy Seanez from Triple-A Las Vegas. Sent P Mark Ettles outright to Las Vegas, pending his clearing waivers. Announced a five-year cable television agreement with Cox Cable and Prime Ticket Network.
