Ecker prayer breakfast set for Chapelgate Presbyterian Church WEST COUNTY --Clarksville * Highland * Glenelg * Lisbon

The Howard County Prayer Group, which meets the second and fourth Fridays of each month, will sponsor the County Executive's Prayer Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow at the Chapelgate Presbyterian Church on Marriottsville Road.

County Executive Charles I. Ecker has proclaimed tomorrow. a countywide day of prayer.

"We believe a lot of things can be answered through prayer," said Bart Duerr, a member of the prayer group. "If it helps one person, then it helps."

The prayer breakfasts with the executive were started eighyears ago to give the community an opportunity to address crime, drugs and other social issues, Mr. Duerr said.

Ed White, a senior consultant with the Alban Institute in Washington, D.C., will address the expected crowd of 300. Lori Cahill, a member of the Alleluias, an interdenominational chorus, will sing, and Chapelgate members Paul and Patty Rau will play the trumpet and piano.

Tickets for tomorrow's prayer breakfast are $15 a person, or $110 for a table of eight.
