Doctors' offices report burglary; cash missing

Someone broke into two doctors' offices in a Ritchie Highway office building over the weekend, county police said yesterday. They said $187 was missing from a cash box in one office, but that they were unsure if anything was taken from the other.

Authorities said the break-ins occurred Sunday or Monday.

The burglar broke through a section of dry wall to get into one first-floor office in The Horizons Building in the 8000 block of Ritchie Highway. A cleaning worker called police when she discovered a wall to the x-ray room had been kicked in.

Police found that the entire office had been rifled, a door had been pried open and every desk drawer and cabinet had been opened.

Authorities were unable to locate an office or building manager, and could not determine if anything was missing.
