Louise Franklin named to Fairhaven position

James I. Melhorn, president and chief executive officer of Episcopal Ministries to the Aging, Inc., has announced the appointment of Louise M. Franklin as director of nursing at Fairhaven, a residential retirement community in Sykesville.

Mrs. Franklin was previously a supervisor at Montgomery General Hospital. She is now responsible for the coordination of care for residents of Fairhaven's 119-bed health care center and overseeing the ambulatory care center, the medical clinic where more than 80 specialists provide the residents of Fairhaven's 277 apartments and cottages with medical services.

She received a bachelor of science in nursing from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Ill.; a master of science in nursing from Catholic University in Washington, D.C.; and a master's degree in general administration from the University of Maryland College Park.

Mrs. Franklin has 30 years of experience in nursing. She lives in West Friendship.
