Man accused of firing gun, carrying crack cocaine

County police said that undercover police officers in Meade Village arrested a man who had been firing a handgun early Friday and found that he was carrying $300 worth of crack cocaine.

Police said the officers saw the man fire a .22-caliber handgun about 12:50 a.m. near his home. The officers chased him one block, arrested him and found the drugs.

Joseph Maurice Medley, 22, of the 1600 block of Meade Circle Road was charged with a handgun violation and possession of crack cocaine.

Marijuana plants seized; 3 Severn men charged

County police reported arresting three Severn residents Thursday after raiding their homes in the 1200 block of Thompson Ave. and confiscating 10 marijuana plants.

Police said the arrests concluded a month-long investigation into an alleged growing operation at the houses.

Authorities said each plant would yield about 2 pounds of marijuana, making the street value of all 10 plants nearly $5,500.

Charged with manufacturing marijuana was Keith William Tallman, 38. Charged with possession of marijuana were David Lynn Tallman, 40, and Carl Meredith Flye Sr., 55. All are of the 1200 block of Thompson Ave.
